BRITTANY LEE WALLER: OWNER & MANAGING EDITOR
As the Owner of Meet The People, I’ve spent over 10 years as a journalist and editor, both at home in Australia and internationally. I’ve worked and been an editor for TEDx Sydney, Gourmet Traveller, Drinks Trade, Barfly, Drinks World Asia, Explore Drinks, Coca Cola Amatil, Nine Network Australia to name a few. I do not dance like nobody is watching, my opinions are sometimes tequila’s.
LEISHA PARKINSON: FEATURE WRITER
I’m a caffeinated writer who veers off into 15 miniature conversations from a sentence as menial as, “Monterey Jack is my favourite cheese”. I compromised my affordable Queensland rent, and weekly avo smashes for the gritty beauty of Sydney, because chaotic un-conventionalism is the way I live my life apparently. I carry wine bottles like you would a newborn child. I once tried to reenact the ‘lift scene’ from Dirty Dancing in a fancy establishment, but I blame a slippery mix white wine and vodka on repeat. If you ask my friends, I’ll never deny whimsy if it results in a great story… and it always does.
KARLA DALY: COFFEE EDITOR
I’m a freelance writer based in Bondi, Sydney. My work has been featured on News.com, Mamamia, Boody and Meet the People. I also work with folks in the wellbeing and creative industry who need their blogs, websites or products primped up with fabulous prose. I love coffee, play, the ocean, avocados, books, music, sign-language, mojitos, road-tripping and writing with the truth (swear words included).
DARYL KONG: PHOTOGRAPHER
Daryl Kong is a Sydney based photographer who first developed his love for creating imagery while working in London as an advertising agency strategist. He specialises in commercial, food, portrait, and events photography. Daryl’s eye and incredible talent for framing people and capturing their personality is what visually sets Meet The People apart.
CHARLIE LEHMANN: GUEST EDITOR
Professional rambler, occasional tug boat driver and one third of the dudes behind Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern. Studied a Communications degree with a significant inclination for the political and the damned rights of the working man to be heard. If not rambling, sporadic thoughts can be found in booze dens around the city or shooting hoops as a favourite past time. Also has a beard and heavily tattooed so fits that certain criteria too.
